When PTT Traffic Tickets represents you at court, we aim to amend or minimize the following penalties that can be laid on you for speeding:

• 0-15km over: 0 demerit points
• 16-29km over: 3 demerit points
• 30-49km over: 4 demerit points
• 50+ km over: 6 demerit points, suspension of your driver’s license.

The court allows the driver up to 15 days to dispute the ticket. During this time you have four options:

1. Accepting the ticket
2. Pleading guilty
3. Meeting with your prosecutor
4. Filing a dispute

Often, you would be tempted to meet with your prosecutor and resolve the matter, but this has a negative output when done without legal help as it almost always leads to a conviction. What a conviction means for you is that you will receive demerit points, it affects your insurance, and this stays on your driving record for three years. If you are a novice driver, this may also lead to a suspension of your license

Did You Know: If you are traveling at a rate of speed at 50 or more kilometers over the limit, your vehicle can be impounded or towed for 7 days. You can also be charged for stunt driving/racing/excessive speed under section 172 of the Highway Traffic Act.
